Our Services

With an ethos of building on existing family and community strengths and bringing out the voices of residents in planning for local resources, FNC Chelsea – Community Connections connects neighbors with resources, referral services, and advocacy for families with young children. Families can connect and learn through parenting education, family engagement programs, and community events designed to empower caregivers as their children’s first teachers and advocates.

Our caring and professional staff partner one on one with families to help them connect with local resources and support for whatever issues they are facing.

We provide clothing to children ages 14 and under. Our sizes run from newborn to size 14-16 for both boys and girls. The clothing we provide is donated by people in the community. It is all carefully selected and in good condition.

Call our office to ask about receiving clothing for your children or donating outgrown items. If we miss your call, please leave us a voicemail stating the size(s) of clothing you need.

Donations: We welcome gently used clothing in children’s sizes from newborn through 14-16. We also accept school uniforms for Chelsea‘s local schools, baby blankets, winter jackets, and shoes for children. Please make sure donated items are in good condition, with no stains or rips.

The Family Fun Bus program gives families the unique opportunity to go on field trips with other families during the summer. We provide transportation and fun activities for visits to zoos, museums, parks, and more. Field trips take place during your child’s summer vacation. Seating is limited and is “first come, first served.” Please bring sunscreen, water, and your phone to take pictures of your little ones having fun!

We offer resources and programs that respond to emerging needs and opportunities within our communities. Check our calendar below to learn about upcoming events.

  • We offer English as a Second Language classes in collaboration with Revival Chelsea. The classes run in three-month sessions, and are held at Revival Chelsea.
  • The Babies and Bubbles Playgroup takes place each spring at a local park.
  • As the leader of the Chelsea Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative, we collaborated to bring monthly workshops to the community on topics related to women’s health throughout 2025. Offered in both English and Spanish, these workshops helped reduce stigma and social isolation, while promoting medical self-advocacy skills and increasing overall public health knowledge.

About Us

FNC Chelsea (formerly Chelsea Community Connections) has been a vibrant neighborhood presence for more than 30 years. Our site Coordinator came to the office and experienced its programs as a child, and now she has the opportunity to bring her own daughters, and to support other families. This rich history allows us to be a resource that families can trust.

  • 1993: the Federal Family Preservation and Support Act allowed funding for the State of Massachusetts to create and implement Family Support Programs in designated neighborhoods in order to strengthen families.
  • 1997: The FFPSA was absorbed into the Promoting Safe and Stable Families Act, and funding for family support was reauthorized through 2006.
  • 2002: The Community Connections Coalition refined its focus of work, committing to service integrations and coordination and to developing partnerships to meet specific community needs.
  • 2025: In April 2025, Chelsea Community Connections Coalition decided to become part of Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts, who had served as the organization’s fiscal sponsor since 2018.

Chelsea is 1.8 square miles large, but has one of the densest populations in Massachusetts. A significant portion of the population consists of first-generation immigrant families. Over three-quarters of Chelsea residents identify as Hispanic or Latinx. Many residents face barriers to accessing safe homes, healthcare, job opportunities, and more. FNC Chelsea provides assistance to these families as they adjust to life in a new country and navigate unfamiliar systems.
