Boston, MA — August 2026 — Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts (FNC) today announced that Carol Torres has been named the organization’s next Executive Director, marking the next chapter of leadership while continuing its commitment to strengthening families and helping children thrive.
Torres joined FNC as Co-Executive Director for Operations in October 2025 and brings more than two decades of nonprofit leadership experience in organizational strategy, program development, and community engagement. Torres succeeds Emma Tobin, who is transitioning from her role as Co-Executive Director of Advancement after more than four years of leadership and service to FNC. Tobin is supporting a thoughtful transition process this summer and pursuing her next professional chapter in Atlanta.
With a deep understanding of FNC’s mission, programs, and partnerships, Torres is well positioned to lead the organization into its next chapter. Since joining FNC, she has advanced strategic priorities, supported organizational redesign, enhanced the organization’s operations, and expanded the infrastructure needed to support long-term sustainability and growth.

During Tobin’s tenure as Executive Director, FNC significantly increased its annual operating budget, expanded its geographic footprint and partnerships, and strengthened its programs and organizational infrastructure. In her current role as Co-Executive Director of Advancement, Tobin has led a comprehensive revenue strategy spanning philanthropic and government funding.

As part of the transition, FNC has launched a search for a Boston-based Senior Director of Advancement who will lead the organization’s advancement efforts, including strengthening relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders.
Under Torres’ leadership, FNC will continue building on its strong foundation while advancing innovative, evidence-informed approaches that strengthen families, invest in communities, and create the conditions for every child to thrive.
